SpecStrand Privacy Policy

SpecStrand ("we", "us") operates SpecStrand, a platform for turning ideas into reviewable, agent-executable specs and plans. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. Questions: support@specstrand.com.

Information we collect. (a) Account information: your name and email address, obtained when you sign in with Google, Microsoft, or GitHub. (b) Phone number: collected to verify your identity. (c) Content you create: ideas, projects, plans, tasks, and repository content you add. (d) Usage and device data: logs, IP address, and basic analytics needed to operate and secure the service. (e) Billing information: if you subscribe, our payment processor, Stripe, collects and stores your payment details. We store only your subscription status and Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, never your card number.

Phone numbers and SMS. We collect your mobile phone number to verify your identity using one-time passcodes sent by SMS through our messaging provider, Twilio. We send only verification messages; we do not send marketing texts unless you separately opt in. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies (typically one message per sign-in or verification attempt). Reply STOP to opt out of messages and HELP for help. We do not sell or rent your phone number, and we do not share it except with our SMS provider to deliver the message.

How we use information. To create and secure your account, verify your identity, provide and improve the service, and meet legal obligations.

Sharing. We share information only with service providers who help us run the service (for example, SMS delivery, payment processing, cloud hosting, and database/cache providers), under contracts that limit their use of it. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention. We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed for the purposes above or to comply with legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it.

Security. We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your information. No method is perfectly secure.

Your rights. Depending on your location, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to certain processing. Contact support@specstrand.com.

Cookies and sessions. We use a strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Children. The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes. We may update this policy; we will post the new version here with a revised "Last updated" date.
